In 2010 I co-founded a software company called everyAir that sought to provide personal cloud gaming services to mobile devices. Our flagship product was a revolutionary
remote desktop application designed from the ground up for performance. With everyAir, you could stream your favorite games, music, movies, and apps from your PC, Mac, or
even PS3, and enjoy them on your iOS device at full resolution and at 30 frames per second. everyAir supported a broad set of devices dating all the way back to the iPhone 3GS
and the original iPad.
What made everyAir unique was its focus on mobile cloud gaming. This product featured a combination of new technologies, including the p.264 video codec, that enabled an extremely low latency and responsive gaming experience. Additionally, custom interface controls such as the on-screen d-pad, thumbstick, and snap-to-window zoom offered a relatively
smooth transition for gamers adapting to using the multi-touch display for their apps and games.
In early 2011, after over 350,000 units sold (with a high average price point), over 400,000 video views on our youtube channel, extremely positive reception by the press (notably engadget, joystiq, and wowinsider), and significant traffic on both our everyAir main site and blog, the everyAir team was acquired by OTOY, a Los Angeles based cloud rendering company.
