From 2004 to 2007 I shipped 22 releases of the Xbox 360 Development Kit (XDK) as a member of the Xbox Graphics Team. These monthly (and later bi-monthly) releases included all of the software, hardware, and tools needed to build official Xbox 360 games and were distributed to all registered Xbox developers. I worked on a number of components for these releases including:

  • Graphics Systems (D3D, D3DX, XGraphics)

  • HLSL Shader Compiler

  • Title & Arcade File Systems

  • Encryption & Compression tools

  • Stereoscopic 3D Support

  • Performance Tools (XbPerfView, PIX)

  • Dashboard (Original + NXE)

  • Audio and Music APIs

  • Kernel Debugger Extensions

  • Controller Design

Games

In addition to my work on the platform, I also assisted over 30 games with their releases. I served in a variety of capacities for both first and third party game studios, providing assistance with anything from game testing and graphics consulting all the way up to writing production code for performance critical or problematic areas. The following is a partial list of some of the games I assisted:

  • Halo 3

  • Grand Theft Auto 4

  • Project Gotham Racing 3

  • Kameo: Elements of Power

  • Perfect Dark Zero

  • Gears of War

  • Halo Wars

  • Castle Crashers

  • Forza Motorsport 2

  • Lips

  • Avatar

  • Uno

  • Fable 2

  • Halo Reach

Screenshots

The following screenshots are from various Xbox 360 games that I assisted in one way or another during their run up to launch. As a member of the graphics team I was able to work closely with the developers and assist them with the transition from early beta development kits all the way up to final hardware.
